Ready and Standing By for Typhoon Tino
As Typhoon Tino moves closer, Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) has placed all teams on Red Alert—ready to protect lives and keep the lights on across Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, Murcia, Bago–Ma-ao, and Don Salvador Benedicto.
From the field crews to our command center, everyone is on duty. Mobile warehouses are stocked, vehicles are fueled, and sleeping quarters are prepared for those working round-the-clock. The goal: quick response, safe operations, and fast restoration once the storm passes.

All Hands on Deck
Negros Power has fully activated its contingency plan with:
- 36 Response Teams
- 9 Quick Response Teams
- 14 Line Teams
- 8 Support Crews (SLP)
- 12 Metering Support Crews
- 12 Line Inspectors
- 6 Metering Inspectors
Teams are equipped with motorcycles for quick moves, 4-wheel vehicles for response, and bucket trucks for line work. Everyone is on standby, ready to roll out once conditions are safe.

Our customer service hotlines and official Facebook page are open 24/7. A dedicated team is ready to receive outage reports, questions, or updates from consumers.
Negros Power’s Community Relations and Key Accounts teams are also coordinating closely with local government units, hospitals, and emergency responders to ensure that vital services stay energized during the storm.

Power Restoration with Priorities
When it’s safe to begin restoration, Negros Power will follow a clear order:
- Subtransmission Lines
- Substations
- Feeder Backbone Restoration
- Hospitals and Medical Facilities
- Emergency Services (fire, police, BJMP, and LGU offices)
- Whole Blocks with No Light
- Single Houses with No Light
- Non-Power Related Concerns

Safety Above All
Engr. Bernard Bailey Del Castillo, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical Officer, assured everyone that Negros Power’s priority is safety—for both the public and the crews working in the field.
“All our teams and resources are ready. We’ve already positioned vehicles, materials, and line crews in key locations so we can respond faster after the typhoon,” Engr. Del Castillo said.
“Our focus is on keeping people safe and making sure critical facilities remain powered.”
Standing Strong Together
Negros Power will continue to post updates as Typhoon Tino makes landfall and will work hand in hand with local authorities throughout the weather disturbance.
“All systems are set, our teams are ready, and our hearts are in the right place,” the company shared. “We’re here for our consumers, ready to restore power and bring light back safely—because we’ll face this storm together.”
