Negros Power Delivered Uninterrupted Electricity for the 2025 Elections
Full Operational Readiness Ensures Smooth Voting
Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) played a crucial role in powering the 2025 National and Local Elections across Central Negros by maintaining a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the entire voting period. From the days leading up to election day and throughout the event itself, Negros Power operated at full capacity, ensuring that every polling center had reliable power to support a seamless and orderly election process.
Proactive Measures and Rapid Response Teams
Anticipating the critical nature of the elections, Negros Power had already activated its operations well before May 12, 2025. The company strategically positioned two generator sets on standby to swiftly address any unexpected power interruptions or emergency needs. Minor power disruptions were reported at three polling centers- Pinuwayan Elementary School, Mailum Elementary School, and Bata Elementary School- but the utility’s highly trained response teams resolved these issues within an hour, minimizing any inconvenience to voters.
To guarantee comprehensive coverage and quick action, Negros Power deployed 85 personnel divided into 20 roving teams, 36 response teams, nine quick response teams, 12 line teams, and eight organic response units. These teams remained vigilant and on standby until all election activities were completed, exemplifying the company’s unwavering dedication to service.
Commitment to Democracy and Community | 2025 Elections
Engr. Bernard Del Castillo, Chief Operating Officer of Negros Power, highlighted the company’s commitment: “Our responsibility went beyond simply providing electricity. We understood that every vote cast was a voice heard in shaping our nation’s future. That’s why our teams worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure that the elections proceeded without disruption. We were fully mobilized and ready to respond to any situation.”
Collaboration with Key Stakeholders
Throughout the election period, Negros Power maintained close coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), local government units, and law enforcement agencies. This collaboration ensured seamless communication and rapid technical support whenever necessary, reinforcing the smooth conduct of the elections.
Empowering the Public Through Communication
Negros Power also encouraged the public to report any electrical concerns through its official hotline and social media platforms, where dedicated personnel were ready to provide immediate assistance. This open line of communication further strengthened the company’s ability to address issues and maintain an uninterrupted power supply swiftly.
A Vital Partner in a Successful 2025 Election
With robust contingency plans, reliable backup systems, and a highly motivated workforce, Negros Power proved to be an indispensable partner in ensuring a secure, peaceful, and well-powered electoral process in Central Negros.
