A Taste of the Middle East at Hamal.Bcd Restaurant
Nestled along BS Aquino Drive, beside Goodyear and fronting Chinabank and Sarabia Vision, Hamal.Bcd offers a taste of the Middle East in the heart of Bacolod City. Specializing in Pidé, Arabic Shawarma, Kebab Wrap/Rice Meals/Platters, Middle Eastern dips, and Broasted Chicken, this al fresco restaurant caters to those craving Middle Eastern flavors. Intrigued by its reputation, I recently visited Hamal. Bcd with my friends for a culinary adventure.
An Invitation to Indulge | Hamal.Bcd
I first learned about Hamal.Bcd when I visited a nearby laboratory and needed a place to break my fasting for blood sugar. Remembering the good reviews, I invited my friends—Dr. Jojo Bayona, Dr. Lei Lani Dusaban, and Engr. Engiemar Tupas—to join me for a meal. Despite my class ending early, we waited for Engiemar and Lei Lani before heading to the restaurant.
Hamal.Bcd | A Mixed Culinary Experience
Our dining experience at Hamal.Bcd was a mix of contrasting reactions. To start, we ordered the Hummus, a chickpea dip served with pita bread. The creamy texture and rich flavor of the Hummus paired perfectly with the warm, fluffy pita bread. However, our main dishes had mixed reviews. The Manisa Kebab, featuring beef kebab in tomato sauce and yogurt, wasn’t received well by everyone. Some found the beef kebab to not fit their preference, and we were unable to finish it. On the other hand, the Alfahm Chicken, an Arabic grilled chicken marinated with Arabian spices, was a standout dish. The tender and juicy chicken, with its perfect blend of spices, left us craving for more.
Pricing at Hamal.Bcd
Pricing at Hamal.Bcd is notably reasonable, offering diners the chance to indulge in a variety of Middle Eastern delights without breaking the bank. The affordability of their menu allows patrons to explore different dishes and flavors, making it an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy a fulfilling meal without overspending. This aspect of their service adds to the overall appeal of the restaurant, making it a go-to destination for those seeking a budget-friendly yet satisfying dining experience.
Room for Improvement for Hamal.Bcd
While the food was generally good, some areas could be improved. The self-service water station was inconvenient, as guests had to stand and take water themselves. It would have been better if water was served, especially since the restaurant is not self-service. Additionally, the presence of insects in the al fresco area was a bit off-putting, although understandable due to the open space. The milk used in the guyabano shake didn’t seem to complement the soursop flavor well, leading to a less-than-ideal experience for us. Despite these shortcomings, our overall dining experience at Hamal.Bcd was enjoyable, and we look forward to returning to try more of their offerings.
In Conclusion
The open dining space at Hamal.Bcd offers a casual and relaxed atmosphere, allowing diners to unwind and enjoy their meal without feeling too formal. This aspect of the restaurant adds to its charm, creating a welcoming environment where guests can fully relax and let go of the formalities of the day. After a long day at work, being able to lounge in a comfortable setting and enjoy a delicious meal is a refreshing experience that sets Hamal.Bcd apart from more formal dining establishments.
