Panaad Sa Negros Festival: A Celebration of Negrense Culture


March 18 was a day filled with excitement and anticipation as I attended the Panaad Sa Negros Festival Launching and Sashing of Lin-ay sang Negros. The festival, held annually in Negros Occidental, Philippines, is a celebration of the rich culture, heritage, and traditions of the Negrenses.

What is Panaad Sa Negros Festival?

Known as the “Festival of Festivals,” is a celebration that brings together the 13 cities and 19 municipalities of Negros Occidental to showcase their unique culture, products, and traditions. It is a time when Negrenses from all walks of life come together to celebrate their culture and the Best of Negros. Stay tuned for the final list of the schedule of events for the festival, which will be held on April 15-21, 2024.

One of the highlights of the festival is the Lin-ay sang Negros, a beauty pageant that aims to promote the beauty, grace, and intelligence of Negrense women. The candidates, representing different cities and municipalities, undergo rigorous training and preparation before competing for the coveted title. The sashing ceremony is a grand event where the candidates are officially presented to the public, showcasing their beauty and talents. The pageant night will be announced soon.

Another highlight of the festival is the display of the Cities and Municipalities Booth, where each city and municipality showcases the best of what they have to offer. It is also a great opportunity for local businesses to promote their products and services to a wider audience.

As I left the festival grounds, I couldn’t help but feel proud to be a part of such a vibrant and dynamic community.
