Negros Power Encourages Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) Employees to Apply for Hiring

With the approval of House Bill 9805, Negros Power Corporation (Negros Power) has been granted the franchise to operate electricity distribution in Central Negros. As the dust settles and the reality of this change sets in, Negros Power extends a heartfelt invitation to CENECO employees to join its workforce. While there is no automatic rehiring provision, Negros Power President Roel Castro emphasizes that interested employees must formally apply for positions within Negros Power to be considered.

He acknowledged the familiarity they have with the industry and the invaluable contributions they have made to the community. “Sana they will consider na magtrabaho pa sa bagong distribution utility company, sayang ang skills and familiarity nila. I encourage them na mag-apply sa Negros Power para ma-consider sila sa hiring,” Castro remarked, his voice filled with hope for a brighter future for all involved.

In response to this invitation, over 200 CENECO employees have already submitted their applications to Negros Power, signaling a collective willingness to embrace change and embark on a new journey. With the clock ticking towards the commencement of operations under the new franchise, President Castro has instructed the Human Resource Department Manager to expedite the hiring process. Impact on the Region’s Electrification Efforts:

Beyond the individual impact on CENECO employees, the joint venture between CENECO and Negros Power represents a significant step forward in Central Negros’ electrification efforts. Once operational, Negros Power aims to enhance electricity distribution in Bacolod, Bago, Silay, Talisay, and the municipalities of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto, bringing reliable and efficient power to these areas.
