That said, I believe we must take a step back and consider the broader perspective. Since Negros Power took over from CENECO, numerous positive changes have directly benefited us, the consumers. One of the most evident signs of progress is the recent announcement of a 55-centavo per kilowatt-hour (kWh) reduction in electricity rates for June 2025. This is not just a number—it’s a meaningful improvement that can ease the financial burden on thousands of households and businesses in our community.

For those of us living and working in Central Negros, this reduction means electricity is becoming more affordable. Residential consumers will now pay only ₱11.14 per kWh, down from ₱11.69 per kWh last month. On paper, it might seem like a slight difference, but when you look at your monthly bill, the savings add up.

For example, a typical household that uses approximately 200 kWh per month will save around ₱110. That extra money can help with groceries, school expenses for the kids, or other essentials. For business owners, this means lower operating costs, which can improve profitability or enable better pricing for customers.

This welcome rate adjustment is the result of Negros Power’s ongoing efforts to improve and modernize our electricity infrastructure. This means that less electricity is lost during transmission, which translates into cost savings that are passed on to us, the consumers.

For our local businesses, the commercial rates have also been adjusted to more affordable levels for June 2025:

• Low Voltage: ₱11.18 per kWh
• High Voltage: ₱10.09 per kWh
