Negros Power Deploys Undas 2026 Response Teams: What Consumers Need to Know Before Visiting Cemeteries
As families prepare to visit cemeteries and memorial parks this November 1 and 2, reliable electricity is one of the things that can help make the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day safer and more orderly.
For consumers in Bacolod City and nearby areas, Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) has announced its Undas 2026 Contingency Plan, which includes deploying emergency response teams, inspecting transformers, and monitoring electricity distribution facilities in areas expected to experience increased public activity.
The preparations are intended to minimize possible power interruptions and ensure that technical personnel are ready to respond to electricity-related concerns throughout the two-day observance.
Which Cemeteries Will Have Negros Power Response Teams?
Negros Power has organized response teams covering eight operational areas across Bacolod City, Talisay City, Silay City, and Bago City.
In Bacolod, designated teams will cover the following cemeteries and memorial parks:
- Bacolod North Public Cemetery
- Bacolod South Public Cemetery in Handumanan
- Rolling Hills Cemetery
- Palm Heaven Cemetery
- Chinese Cemetery
- Rose Lawn Cemetery
- Bacolod Memorial Park
- Sanctuario de Bacolod
- Forest Lake Memorial Park
Additional teams will be assigned to:
Talisay City: Talisay Public Cemetery and Heaven’s Gate Cemetery.
Silay City: Silay Public Cemetery, Daan Pari Cemetery, and Lasting Peace Cemetery.
Bago City: Bago City Cemetery.
These designated teams will operate on two shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, providing coverage throughout the Undas observance.

Standby Teams for Faster Response
Aside from personnel assigned to specific cemeteries, Negros Power will also position standby response teams in strategic locations.
These include the Bacolod area, Talisay-Silay area, and Bago-Murcia area.
This arrangement is intended to help the company mobilize additional technical personnel more quickly should power-related concerns arise in areas covered by its operations.
For consumers, having response teams strategically positioned means there are personnel prepared to attend to reported electrical concerns during a period when many families are gathering in public places.
Transformer Inspections and Monitoring
Another important component of the Undas 2026 contingency plan is the inspection and monitoring of distribution transformers near identified cemetery areas.
Negros Power will monitor transformers with capacities ranging from 10 kVA to 50 kVA, depending on the location.
These inspections are part of the company’s efforts to help maintain the reliability and safety of its distribution facilities during the expected increase in public activity.
Engr. Mervin Dalian, AVP for Network Development and Operations of Negros Power, said the company has prepared its response teams and identified strategic standby locations to address possible power-related concerns.
He emphasized that critical areas, particularly cemeteries and memorial parks, will be monitored and that technical personnel will remain ready to respond throughout the observance.

What Does This Mean for Consumers?
For families visiting cemeteries this Undas, the preparations provide added assurance that Negros Power is taking steps to maintain electricity service and respond to possible concerns.
However, consumers should remember that the deployment of response teams does not guarantee that power interruptions will not occur. Unexpected electrical problems and other external factors may still affect electricity distribution.
As a practical reminder, families should also exercise caution when using electrical decorations, extension cords, and temporary lighting in cemetery areas. Avoid overloaded outlets and report potentially dangerous electrical conditions to the appropriate authorities.
A More Prepared Undas for Bacolod and Nearby Cities
Undas is one of the busiest periods of the year for cemeteries and memorial parks. Beyond the usual preparations made by families, the readiness of essential service providers also plays an important role in public safety and convenience.
With its Undas 2026 Contingency Plan, Negros Power is putting additional personnel and monitoring measures in place to help ensure that electricity-related concerns can be addressed promptly.
For consumers, the important takeaway is simple: while families focus on remembering their departed loved ones, the local power distributor is preparing its teams and facilities to support communities during the observance.
Reliable electricity, prepared response teams, and public cooperation all contribute to a safer and more orderly Undas.
