Surgical Mission Celebrates Negros Power’s First Anniversary with a Life-Changing Outreach

Marking a year of dedication to community service, Negros Power commemorated its first anniversary with an inspiring surgical mission held from August 12 to 15, 2025, at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City. This remarkable initiative, forged through partnership with the World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), went beyond energy provision to deliver hope and healing to families in need.

Surgical Mission: A Gift of Health and Hope

This second surgical mission by Negros Power, following its inaugural event at Valladolid District Hospital, was focused on offering free, essential surgeries to 17 patients, predominantly young children requiring specialized care. The surgeries conducted ranged from herniotomy and rectal biopsy to more complex procedures such as Posterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty (PSARP), pullthrough surgeries, and colostomy closures. These interventions opened new doors for patients—some as young as a day old—paving their way toward healthier and brighter futures.

Surgical Mission Teamwork: A Unified Commitment to Care

Behind the scenes, an impressive team effort brought the surgical mission to life. Thirty-five volunteers and medical staff from Manila, local organizations like ORNAP Dumaguete, and the devoted personnel of CLMMRH collaborated seamlessly to ensure quality, comprehensive medical services were delivered safely over the course of the four-day mission. This unity reflects a shared commitment to the welfare of Negros Occidental’s community, underscoring how collective care can create lasting positive change.

A  Testament to Community Values

Negros Power’s Assistant Vice President for Customer Care and Marketing, Ms. Maricel Pe, spoke passionately about the mission’s significance, stating, “Through our partnership with the World Surgical Foundation Philippines, we are not just providing electricity—we are empowering lives, one surgery at a time.” The surgical mission embodies the core of the company’s flagship campaign, “Ikaw ang Una” (You Come First), putting people’s well-being at the heart of both their service and values. The gratitude expressed by beneficiary families highlights the profound impact of this initiative, providing access to life-changing medical care that would otherwise be out of reach.

Negros Power aspires to make such outreach efforts a continuous tradition, ensuring that alongside reliable power, the people of Negros Occidental will consistently receive critical healthcare support. With the ongoing partnership of WSFP, local volunteers, and CLMMRH’s dedicated medical team, this mission shines as a beacon of compassion, community upliftment, and sustainable service.

In every corner of Negros Occidental where this surgical mission touched lives, it sparked stories of hope, courage, and healing. This anniversary celebration, through the transformative power of care, reveals that Negros Power is indeed lighting up more than homes—they are illuminating futures.
