Since no one else is offering this kind of service in our barangay, I have a unique chance to help others while also earning. This business idea is inspired by my love for bananas and Filipino snacks. I enjoy preparing food and experimenting with ingredients, which aligns with the skills needed for this product. As more people look for healthier alternatives in a fast-paced setting, this business stands out by being local, affordable, and reliable. I’ve developed a habit of doing my own makeup and I enjoy trying out different products. This led me to want to create my own makeup brand someday. I also want my makeup to have added benefits like moisturizing the skin, brightening dark spots, and including SPF for sun protection. The business I plan to pursue is a Halo-Halo restaurant called Pick and Mix Halo-Halo. What makes it different is that customers can choose their own ingredients and toppings to create their own unique halo-halo. Aside from that, the store will also offer fast food meals, but the main focus will still be the customizable halo-halo. The place will be divided into two sections — one side is the dining area, and the other side is a venue space that can be used for small celebrations or meetings, available only from Monday to Friday. On weekends (Saturday and Sunday), the venue will turn into a live band area. There will be a ₱100 entrance fee for the live band section, but if a customer spends more than ₱200 in the dining area, the entrance becomes free. I believe this business will succeed because it combines Filipino food culture with a fun and interactive experience, and it offers different vibes depending on the day.
For my second option, I want to open a resting and gaming place near schools. It will be a two-floor building — the second floor will be for students who want to rest or take naps. They can book a room good for 3 to 5 people for only ₱50 per hour per person. On the ground floor, there will be a gaming area. One side will be for billiards, and the other side will be a computer area for online games. This is ideal for students who want to relax, de-stress, or enjoy with friends after class. I believe this idea is useful and timely, especially for young people who are often stressed, tired from school, and for students who have a long vacant period and want a place to rest or take a nap, even for a while.
My third option is to sell customized bracelets and necklaces. What makes this business unique is that customers can design their own jewelry, they can choose the beads, charms, and string colors based on their style or mood. Prices will depend on the design and materials they choose. I also plan to offer “mood-based” or “message-based” bracelet sets (like for birthdays, friendships, or affirmations) to make the experience more personal. This idea aligns with my passion for education and community-building, as I’ve always enjoyed creating spaces where people can collaborate and learn. To stand out, I’d focus on unique perks like hourly workspace rentals and textbook consignment partnerships, which most cafes lack.

This concept perfectly matches my culinary curiosity and love for Bacolod’s food culture. Reinventing the iconic inasal with fusion twists (e.g., tacos, loaded fries) taps into strong local demand while differentiating me from traditional street vendors. I can costumize a cart, source ingredients locally, and test high-margin items (₱25 cost → ₱99 sale). My competitive edge lies in late-night student bundles and Instagram-worthy branding. I’m confident in my ability to adapt recipes based on feedback and pivot to festivals like MassKara for extra revenue. The low overhead and cultural resonance make this the most feasible option, though standing out in a saturated market requires bold creativity.
3. Vegan Silog Meals
As someone passionate about sustainability, this idea excites me, but it’s a tougher sell in meat-loving Bacolod. While health trends are rising, convincing locals to pay ₱99 for vegan tocino or longganisa demands trust-building. My resources stretch to cloud kitchen partnerships and delivery bikes. Uniqueness lies in being the first vegan silog delivery service, but competition from carinderias and skepticism about plant-based meals are hurdles. Success hinges on aggressive social media marketing and collaborations with gyms or wellness groups.
I consider three business based on my interest and I believe that it will be successful. First is the food and small food truck idea of mine, it’s small but people are trying to find a good food to eat and they’re traveling anywhere just to try new foods, this idea of mine doesn’t yet to exist in the market but I’m sure people would take a liking into it, my target audience are the students and also workers that are about to go home. My second option is very common so it is not that competitive and it’s a computer shop, I add some new service like you can eat and order, also it’s like a capsule like in japan for more privacy. Lastly is technology,this is an innovation idea of mine and it is doable with present materials that I can have, I don’t want to go into the details of the tech since I don’t want it to spread cause I see a potential on it, but it is a innovative technology product that can really help people in their daily life, especially in PH

The businesses that are in mind right now are:
Pastries – I want to start this kind of business because I love baking and sweets. Since many people also enjoy sweets and coffee, I believe I can have a wide market—especially if I offer products that are health-conscious. I plan to focus on healthier pastry options and locate the business near schools or workplaces, where many students and employees usually pair their coffee with bread or pastries during breaks or while studying.
Clothing line – This is my second option because I also have a strong interest in fashion. I often watch fashion week videos on YouTube and get inspired by how they style their clothes. However, when I look for similar styles to buy, they’re often too expensive—even from local brands. That’s why I’m planning to create an affordable, but not cheap clothing line. I’ll start with shirts and gradually experiment with more styles in the future if the brand becomes recognized and loved by people.
As of now, I don’t have a third business option yet, but I’m open to exploring more ideas as I continue to learn and gain experience.

– So basically, we will be getting our supplies from our Korean partner. There will be lists of furniture from home decor to sofas to dining tables, and we will pick the best among all the designs. then we will showcase each product in a showroom. Then the customer will order the specific product, then it will be shipped here.
– I am into arts and design, so I love interior design or anything related to art. So I believe in my capacity to choose the best furniture to be displayed. Moreover, here in Bacolod, we don’t really have a wide range of choices to shop for home furniture and decor. and the existing shops are somehow outdated and lack in supply.
2. Formal Events Fashion Store (RTW but altered to their size)
– There will be different designs for different occasions, like long dresses, coordinates, etc., where customers could scan through in our office. then the picked clothing will be altered and sold. I believe that here in bcd, it’s quite hard to find rtw’s for formal events, especially when it’s an instant or urgent event. It will be hard if we will have it sewn pa with a fashion designer. And we have limited choices here, and most of them offer gowns only. but in my shop, there will be different types of clothing.
– I am into fashion; in fact, I studied fashion design for one year. And I believe that I will enjoy pursuing this business since my interests is inclined to this.
3. Just @20
– The business is all about different desserts such as graham bars, tapioca, ice cream, etc in a cute and handy packaging sold for just 20 pesos. So there will be a traveling food cart with a personalized tune and an appealing appearance that could attract customers. The carts will be distributed at Megaworld, lagoon, and can also be used as an event cart, which is perfect for kids’ birthday parties, weddings, etc.
– I am also into sweets and I love eating sweets. I think that this business idea is good most especially in a crowded place where people usually chill and be with their friends/family because kids will surely buy it knowing that it’s a dessert and affordable. Also, after running, the runners will surely find something that can cool them down. it will be great to have a small sweet treat.

Since I already have access to used cups from Café Cielli, I can start small using basic molding techniques or collaborate with local artisans. It’s a great way to reduce waste creatively and offer something useful and aesthetic. These products will appeal to students, café lovers, and anyone who supports sustainability.
3. Biodegradable Plant Pots Made from Used Coffee Grounds
These are plantable pots made from used coffee grounds that is designed to decompose into the soil and enrich it. Since we already produce a lot of coffee waste at Café Cielli, this is a smart and sustainable way to repurpose it. It’s low-cost to produce and perfect for “plantitas”, gift-givers, or anyone starting their plant journey. I can sell them online or at weekend markets, or bundle them with seeds as a zero-waste gift idea.
My first business option is something related to food, most probably a café offering freshly baked pastries and breads with an area like book nook or study area. This is one of my options as baking and reading are some of my hobbies that I really enjoy and love. I bake a lot and it is something that I am willing to learn more about and improve. Making it student budget friendly together with the study area/book nook will help attract the students from schools nearby as well as working professionals looking for an area to study/work, read, or just hang out. Offering a place for the customers to study, work, and read can also be a competitive advantage compared to other café.
My second business option would be something related to fashion/jewelry. This is another one of my interests and to which I believe I have some knowledge in as well as something I am willing to learn further more. With a business related to fashion, I would probably focus on using quality/recycled materials and craftmanship. With the current fast paced trends on fashion and jewelry, mlst products are being massed produced with poor quality, so focusing on sustainable business approach can be an advantage especially more and more people are also becoming mindful of where they buy clothes and jewelry as well as how ethical were they produced.
My third business option would be sleeping pods. This will be just like those in japan, this is just an idea that I feel like has potential especially near schools targeted mostly at college students. Since there are schedules in college with long vacants, and because we also experienced it ourselves, most of the time we want somewhere to lay down in and sleep. With this sleeping pods hotels near schools, students who do not have dorms with long vacants can have a place to stay in and relax/sleep, they can also do their remote jobs or schoolworks in the pods which will give them privacy and silence to focus. To further attract possible customers, adding other areas like tv rooms which can be rented out either individually or as a group for those who may want to watch a movie or have a big enough space to hang out with their friends in a private space. With the amount of college students looking for a place to stay in during their vacants, and even those working professionals looking for a place to take a quick nap, I feel like the sleeping pod hotel business has potential.

When it comes to Market demands and trends, pastries are very sought after for every celebration, gifts, and snacks and there’s a growing appreciation for international inspired pastries that I would surely love to try to recreate.
My second business would be a Rest Stop Cafe where students like us will be able to rest on their vacant time. I thought of this business because as a college student who has 3-5 hours vacant, all I really wanted was a place where I could catch up on my sleep, relax, and have a place to study without any interruption from any noises.This is why a Rest Stop Cafe would be a good idea for it can also serve as a Cafe where they can enjoy coffee, snacks and light meals. The students can also charge their devices with a free 1 hour wifi.
I know this business is really in demand for I know a lot of students who wanted to sleep and relax but they can’t because they do not have the right place for it.
My third business would be a where people can chose variety of food that they wanted to put on their bento box. This aligns well with people who wants to customize their own healthier version of a Bento meal. This also align with my interest because growing up, I really love Japanese Cuisine and sometimes I create my own Bento Box from scratch everytime I have a free time.
