Cebu Pacific Celebrates 9 Years of UNICEF Change for Good with Youth Career Talk and Airport Tour

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, recently marked nine years of partnership with UNICEF Philippines’ Change for Good campaign by hosting a career talk and airport tour. The event welcomed select Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners from the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Angeles City, Clark, Pampanga.

Empowering Youth Through Aviation Careers

Held on August 8, the event brought together Cebu Pacific employees, ALS learners, DepEd officials, and UNICEF representatives to inspire learners to explore careers in the aviation industry. During the career talk, Cebu Pacific employees shared their aviation journeys and showcased the wide range of roles available within the sector.

Behind-the-Scenes Experience at Clark International Airport

Following the career talk, participants joined Cebu Pacific employees and airport officials on a tour of Clark International Airport. The learners visited key areas, including check-in counters, security screening zones, and the arrivals hall. This gave them a behind-the-scenes look at how airport teams collaborate to ensure safe and seamless travel for passengers.

Change for Good Program: Turning Spare Change into Hope

All learners taking part in the event are beneficiaries of the Change for Good campaign, a partnership between Cebu Pacific and UNICEF Philippines. This initiative encourages passengers to donate loose change on board flights. Since its inception, the campaign has raised over PHP 112 million (approximately USD 2.13 million), supporting UNICEF’s projects in education, health, nutrition, and emergency response for vulnerable children throughout the Philippines.

Impacting the Lives of Vulnerable Children

Carmen Gonzalez Ortiz, UNICEF Philippines Chief of Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships, emphasized the importance of the campaign: “The collective generosity of Cebu Pacific passengers has transformed the lives of thousands of children across vulnerable communities in the Philippines. Every peso contributed is an investment in their future—providing opportunities for them to learn, thrive, and build a better tomorrow for themselves and their communities.”
